Mesker Zoo brew is exactly 1 month away!

Zoo Brew 2018
Saturday, June 2, 2018
6-9PM

Proceeds raised will benefit the Evansville Zoological Society, the Zoo’s 501(c)3 fundraising organization. The Evansville Zoological Society funds conservation projects, staff education, and new exhibits at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden.

In order to serve at an OVHA sanctioned event, each server must have on their person a current servers license (volunteer is fine) and a copy of the certificate for completion of the Indiana Server Training Program. This will be checked before the event starts.

OVHA has supported this event every year, by serving samples of our homemade craft beers to the public.

We need your help again this year, we need volunteers that have beer they want to donate, volunteers for serving (you need to have your volunteer servers permit or full bartenders license), volunteers to set up, tear down, talking/educating public on homebrewing.

If your interested please post beer and/or what you can help with.

Remember only dues paid members that are working get in without a ticket. If your not working we ask you to buy a ticket, it's for a good cause and remember to get them early, they do sell out every year. Priority goes first to those who Donate beer. Then to those who can set up, stay for tear down, as well as serve.

We will need volunteers for set up, tear down and approx 3-4 servers each hour from 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, and 8-9 as well as beer contributions.

Lets try to outdo ourselves again like we did last year and make this an awesome event!

We will need the following for this event:
1. Those who can set up/tear down (you can do one or both, we won't turn down any extra help).
2. If you would like to serve along with your availability (If you would like to serve, please know you will need a server’s license.)
3. What can you offer or donate to the event (bottles, kegs, root beer)?
4. This event is rain or shine so keep that in mind.

Please respond to this thread if you are available, and specify set up, tear down, donate (how many and what kind) and serve (specify a time if needed)

Here is the link for sign up for loading, set up, beer listings, etc.

Let me know if anyone cannot access this link. It is basically the updated version of last year's. It may not be as fancy as Jordan's for Swirca but it should suffice.

Enjoy!

Just signed Cesar and I up to serve. We may be able to tear down based on babysitter timing.

Just finding out I may be available Saturday. Is it too late to obtain the servers license? If not what's the easiest/quickest way to get it done?

Info can be found here:

https://www.in.gov/atc/2641.htm

Unless something has changed, your receipt of payment DOES suffice as a temporary servers license for the event.

It's all web based. The training course is here and required every 3 years I believe. Which reminds me that I'm due for the training!

https://secure.in.gov/apps/atc/training/

Edit: that part is done after the application, within the first 60 or 90 days I recall

Successfully signed up to serve! First time doing it. The T-shirt I bought at the beginning of the year is a large that fits like an XS, do we happen to have any more? Haha. Also is donating a half a keg ok? I don't get to brew as often as I used to and don't have any full ones!

Zoo Brew 2018 is almost here! We hope that you are as excited as we are about this fun night out at Mesker Park Zoo. Zoo Brew would not be possible without your participation and support. THANK YOU!

Please read the following to make the event setup run as smooth as possible! It is important to note your entry gate below as you will NOT be allowed to enter another gate due to the traffic flow inside the zoo.

1) All vendors MUST have a vendor wristband to enter zoo grounds. We will have vendor packets available at the Zoo’s front gate during the following times if you would like to pick up your wristbands/tasting mugs early to distribute to volunteers.

Packet Pick-Up:

Friday, June 1 – 9am to 4pm

Saturday, June 2 – 9am to 2pm

*Any remaining vendor packets will be available at your check-in gate starting at 3:00PM.

2) SETUP:

· SETUP GATE - FRONT GATE

· Please come to the Front Gate of the Zoo at 1545 Mesker Park Drive. At the gate, you will be greeted by a Zoo Staff member who will direct you to your vending area.

· Note that vehicles are NOT allowed to enter through the Front Gate. All setup will need to be done by hand truck.

· For help finding an electrical outlet, please ask any Zoo Staff member

· Ice will be delivered to your table during the 3-5pm setup time

3) SCHEDULE:

· 3PM – Setup Begins

· 5PM – Vendors must be setup and ready to roll. VIPs begin to enter event through entrance at the back of the Zoo

· 5PM-6PM – VIP only access

· 6PM – General Admission Gates Open

· Throughout event, Zoo Staff will be making the rounds to check-in with you regarding trash removal and other needs.

· 9PM – Event Ends – tear down should be fairly quick, but we do want to stay organized and mindful of vendor vehicles moving in and out of the Zoo. Zoo Staff will be on hand to help direct this traffic.

Once again, your Zoo could NOT make this great night happen without you guys. Thank you on behalf of all of us here at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden
