The Kentucky State Fair Homebrew competition is August 11th & 12th, and we need your expertise! Our competition has 3 judging sessions, starting Friday evening and continuing Saturday morning and afternoon. We judged over 450 entries last year, so your beer knowledge, sensory and judging skills will be greatly appreciated for any or all of our judging sessions.

Out-of-Town Judges
This year, we are able to offer to 10 BJCP Judges (Recognized & above who judge 2 sessions and travel over 100 miles one-way) a check for $100 from the Kentucky State Fair. Additionally, for those traveling from out of town, several members of the LAGERS hombrew club have volunteered to host incoming judges Friday night, August 11th. Both are first come first served, so please do not wait to register. If you want to make sure you secure one of the host rooms, then please contact me directly.

Registration
Use this link to register to judge:

Judging and Awards
The first session of judging will be held on Friday, August 12 at 7:00 p.m. The second session of judging will be held on Saturday, August 13 at 9:30 a.m., with the third session following at 12:30 p.m. Please show up 30 minutes before the start of each session for check-in and to receive judging assignments. The afternoon session will be followed by a Best of Show judging; afterwards we are planning an awards ceremony to announce the winners.

The Food
We will provide a light, continental-style breakfast Saturday morning before the start of the morning session. We will also provide lunch between the morning and afternoon sessions.

Address and Parking
Kentucky Exposition Center, 937 Phillips Lane, Louisville, Kentucky: South Wing

When you enter the fairgrounds, stay to the far right side and tell the attendant that you are there as a judge for the competition. They will not charge you for parking if you go to this booth. After you get past the parking entrance, you will see a large building to the right. The entrances that are open to this building are up towards the northern end of this building near the middle. Once you get in, look for the signs that tell you where we will be judging. (Usually we are in rooms 101-102)

If anybody wants to enter any beers you have until monday the 10th to late register, $8 a beer, 2 bottles per entry. I will volunteer to drive them up on 8/9. only 450 entries means much better odds then brewers cup. Abby and I will be judging and stewarding. You can sign up to steward in the above link.
