SWIRCA Brewfest July 23, 2016

Post by Jeremy Dunn » Fri Jul 15, 2016 9:09 pm

SWIRCA Brewfest is only 1 week away, so I figured I'd start a topic to start planning. I assume we should meet at Turoni's to pick up equipment. What time?

FYI, I still have the jockey box stuff in the trunk of my car from Brewer's Cup. I keep forgetting it's there. Anyway, I'm going to give the gas lines a good soak for a few days in some PBW to get that crud cleaned out.

Great! Do you think there are more gas lines at Turoni's that could use similar treatment?

VIP hour starts at 5, right? Start loading up at Turoni's at 3?

Been out of town but have the REPAIRED four sandwich board signs, and beads - will bring them directly to SWIRCA.

Has there not been a thread started for volunteer sign ups, besides at the meeting?

I will try to be at Turonis by 3.

We will meet at Turonis at 3. I didn't ask for more volunteers because I figured we were in good shape for that. If you want , I can add you to the list John Mullins. Also, if anyone that has volunteered to serve absolutely refuses to serve anywhere but OVHA, please let me know so I can make the schedule.

The jockey box gas lines and distributors are squeaky clean now. I'm not going to have time this week to swing by Turoni's to inspect the other lines though.

Nate, I signed up at the June meeting. It just dawned on me this morning that I hadn't seen a post about it.

Awesome! Thanks!

I'll get a hold of Pietrowski to let me in to check the other ones out.

Along the thread of cart and foaming. After some discussions with John Mills and others we wanted to take a look at the liquid tubing to make sure we weren't going from 1/4" to 5/16" as the liquid leaves the coldplates. Doing so would encourage foaming. Tis was not the case however as the tubing from coldplates to tap is 3/16". So that should be fine. I did however find that some of the tubing may have been pinched beneath the two heavy cold plates. We should make sure at SWIRCA that all tubing runs above the cold plates to avoid any possible pinching?
I have new tools and revamped sandwich board signs as well as BEADS galore!
I will bring the stuff directly to Bose field maybe an extra fan or so and more xten cords

What is Bead price? I think one for $5 or three for $10 would work but may be a little high. Other option is one for $2 and three for $5. Would like to avoid dealing with $1 bills though. Thoughts? What is cost per strand?

YEAH and Thank You!! Those were nasty! If we can't clean other ones beforehand, bring a small bucket of PBW & a small brush (like old toothbrush) and clean them at SWIRCA.
Whoever is in charge of tear down, PLEASE monitor what's being done. I know the goal is as fast as possible, but lack of attention to cleanliness then leaves big nasty cleanup later.

Good thought Nate. I think it's best to post the serving schedule and keg signup list. It's been a while and some folks may have forgotten, or may want to know who they are working with. I think I signed up for 3 kegs: Altbier, Cider and Jalapeño Pale Ale. I was gonna bring the Ginger Beer bottles too but think they're infected.

As always, THANK YOU for your club support. Can you pliers, vice grips or channel locks? There are none in the toolbox and we need to get some brass fittings off the taps. Some separated off the taps and are stuck on the faucets. We could not get them off at Brewers Cup.
