2016 Big Turkey Style

Post by n_ferrell » Thu Jan 28, 2016 2:55 pm

Last night at the January meeting, we voted on the 2016 Big Turkey styles. The results were:

19 votes---Blonde and Pale
14 votes---Specialty
17 votes---Strong American Ale
24 votes--- Strong Belgian Ale
14 votes---Trappist

So, the 2 brewing styles for the 2016 Big Turkey contest will be (18)Blonde and Pale and (25)Belgian.

Good Luck, brewers!! :beer9

Exciting!

Category 25 Strong Belgian Ale
includes subcategorys:
25a. Belgian Blonde Ale
25b. Saison
25c. Belgian Golden Strong Ale

Category 18 Pale American Ale
includes subcategorys
18a. Blonde Ale
18b. American Pale Ale

Some classic examples of these would be Kona Big Wave Golden for the blonde ale, sierra
Nevada Pale Ale, Leffe Blond is an example of Belgian Blond, Boulevard Tank 7 Farmhouse ale for saison, and Piraat and Duvel for Belgian Golden Strong Ale.

Time to start planning my future brews!

Love it! I'll have to re-brew my Belgian Saison from last year. Looks like my Trappist will have to be entered into the Indiana Brewers Cup.

Don is that your Scottish Ale winner at Carsons? Peg Leg Pete I think is what it's named. I got a growler of it for the Super Bowl. Good beer!

Yes thanks, but John gets the credit. He converted it for their system.
My son said Old Chicago and Ri Ra's had it on tap, but It's cheaper at my house. :beer4
