Brewer's Cup Call for Stewards

Post by Chris Norrick » Thu Apr 17, 2014 4:23 pm

Steward registration is open!
Hello 2013 Stewards,

I hope you had a great time volunteering at last year's Brewers Cup, and wanted to invite you to join us again this year! The judging sessions will be held on July 11th and 12th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. We anticipate using the same schedule as last year with judging sessions on Friday night, Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon. As a volunteer, you will again be invited to attend the awards ceremony Saturday night. If you're interested, you can view the schedule and access registration at:

http://www.brewerscup.org/volunteer

Don't fret if you don't hear anything back immediately. I will send more details out to the registered group in the late-May/early-June timeframe.

Thanks for your consideration,
Nathan Compton

I strongly reccommend participating in this if you have never done it before. Submitting your beers for judging is a great way to get feedback. Stewarding is an incredible experience. Free beer!

Also, it looks like there is a new category this year:

"Finally, we are introducing category 99: Indiana Specialty Beer. Each year, a different ingredient indigenous to Indiana will be chosen for this beer. In 2014, the specialty ingredient is corn. All beers entered in category 99 must contain corn."

Is anyone brave enough to brew a corn beer??

Still no confirmation email. I've sent two emails (both to addresses on the site) and both were bounced back to me. Anyone have a suggestion for another email address I can use to try to get ahold of them?

Today is the first day to register your beers for Brewers' Cup. Remember that they limit the number of entries so the early bird gets the worm. Make sure that you fill the registration space for club name so that we will be eligible for the Club of the Year award. We have a large enough club. We should at least make sure we are eligible for that (at least 5 brewers and 15 entries).

I'll pick up any entries left at Carson's at around 7pm on the 14th.
